For every piece, we analyse your muscle flow and skin texture to make sure the shading creates real depth. Whether it is a portrait or a complex geometric sleeve, we spend the time getting the grey washes and highlights perfect so the tattoo does not just sit on your skin, it flows with it. Black and grey realism requires a deep understanding of light and shadow. In our Safdarjung studio, we approach this style by focusing on the 'why' of the tattoo. It is never just about copying an image; it is about interpreting the soul of the subject, whether that is a portrait of a loved one, a deity like Ganesha or Shiva, or a concept like the Invictus poem. When you come to us for a custom realism piece, we start with a consultation to understand the narrative. For large projects like sleeves or back panels, we use freehand skin marking to map out the composition before the needle touches the skin. This ensures that the design respects your anatomy. We utilize premium black inks and specific magnum shaders to build the gradients that give our work its signature depth. If you are looking at memorial portraits or symbolic pieces, we work closely with your photos and references to capture exact expressions. For cover-ups, we use the density of black and grey shading to mask old ink while integrating it into a new, meaningful narrative. Every session is planned, and for larger projects, we break the work into sittings to maintain high detail across the entire piece. ## About Zeppelin Tattoos We are Zeppelin Tattoos.
