Part of that is understanding the history and theory behind the music you play. Here's a fact about the two major traditions of Indian classical music: Hindustani and Carnatic.](https://assets.mytribe.in/insecure/raw:1/plain/s3://mytribe-assets-production/78e0ba31-423c-4531-b895-98dc8ad3de54) ## About Academy Life & Our Instruments Learning an instrument is as much about the setup as it is about the notes. We invest in equipment like our Yamaha P-125 digital pianos, complete with proper wooden furniture stands, because we know that correct posture and acoustic-treated rooms are essential to your progress. Whether you are here for a private piano session or a group guitar class, our space is designed so you can focus entirely on your music. At Zen Music Academy, we believe that the environment dictates how well you learn. Our classes in Mira Road and Vasai are structured to remove obstacles between you and your instrument. We run dedicated sessions for both Indian and Western music, creating a space where a student practicing sargams on a floor-seated baithak can coexist with a guitarist working on Western notation in the next room. ### Our Approach to Music Education We don't just teach you how to play; we teach you how to listen and tune. Our 'bariiki' philosophy means we focus on the micro-details that many beginners miss. If you are learning the flute, we prioritize your blowing technique and tuning against a tanpura before you ever try a complex melody. For our vocalists, we emphasize voice projection and control. ### Facility and Equipment We maintain our academy to professional standards: * **Acoustic Control:** Our classrooms are sound-dampened to ensure you hear every note clearly without interference. * **Instrument Access:** You do not need to bring your own gear to start. We provide acoustic guitars, digital pianos, and percussion sets for your sessions. * **Class Structure:** We offer small group batches to ensure you receive individual attention while still benefiting from the motivation of learning alongside others. We also facilitate jam sessions, which helps you move from practicing exercises to actually playing with a band. Whether you are an absolute beginner looking for your first guitar lesson or an intermediate player stuck on a technical plateau, our doors are open. We invite you to experience the difference that a focused, well-equipped space makes in your musical journey. ## About Zen Music Academy We started this academy because we believe music is for everyone, regardless of age. Whether you are sitting on the floor for a traditional tabla session or jamming on an electric guitar, we are here to help you find your own musical spark.
