## About Yoga Philosophy & Spiritual Mentorship

### What I Offer

Yoga for me is way more than stretching - it's about how we live, breathe, and show up for ourselves. If you’re after spiritual yoga guidance and not just another class, I’m here to walk with you.

### Mentorship Beyond the Mat

- I focus on the 99% of yoga that’s off the mat - how we act, eat, think, and serve (*seva*).
- We talk about Yama & Niyama (ethics), Ahara (nourishment), and Vichara (self-inquiry), but I don’t make it all textbook-y. We keep it real, sometimes messy, and always honest.
- If you're open to exploring yogic wisdom mentorship, we dig into Bhagavad Gita, Vedanta, and Tantra, seeing how ancient teachings fit our life now.

### Our Sessions

- We’ll use mantra chanting sessions and sound to steady our minds, plus meditation and Yoga Nidra (not a fancy nap, but deep rest).
- I guide you in building your own sadhana - a practice that works for you, not just what’s “right” in a book.
- My aim is to support your personal sadhana, meeting you where you are, whether you’re feeling lost or hopeful.

### My Approach

I’m not here to judge, push, or promise instant transformation. I hold space, give perspective, and share what I’ve learned. Sometimes progress is slow, sometimes it’s surprising. Healing is not a goal, it’s a return - to yourself, as you are.

Yoga gathers you, when you’re ready.

- [Video: Many people approach yoga as a quick fix, asking which pose cures which disease. But yoga was never meant to be a simple prescription. While modern medicine is essential for treating acute illness, yoga works differently. It is a collaborative path to wholeness, resetting the nervous system, balancing hormones, and restoring the deep-seated memory of wellness that exists beneath all turbulence. It is not about fixing what is broken, but remembering the wholeness that was never lost.](https://assets.mytribe.in/insecure/raw:1/plain/s3://mytribe-assets-production/8b1db0f8-db4c-40bb-80d2-337eac5d8190)
- [Video: I often hear that yoga is not enough and should be supplemented with cardio or strength training. This perspective arises when yoga is seen only as physical exercise. True yoga is a complete system for overall well-being and spiritual advancement. If your practice feels incomplete, I encourage you to explore its deeper dimensions: the ethics of Yamas and Niyamas, and the paths of Karma, Jnana, and Bhakti. Yoga is more than enough, because it helps you realize that you are enough.](https://assets.mytribe.in/insecure/raw:1/plain/s3://mytribe-assets-production/a3484a19-6ada-4f6c-9bf4-c222d835eed8)
- [Video: We spend so much of our lives striving, gathering, and seeking. We believe yoga is something we must achieve through effort. But the real practice begins when the seeking stops. Yoga is not something you gather; it is a presence that finds you in the quiet moments. In the stillness, when all effort falls away, yoga gathers you.](https://assets.mytribe.in/insecure/raw:1/plain/s3://mytribe-assets-production/a281c9d5-a5e7-49f0-83b6-9f33bef3cdef)
- [Video: In the Bhagavad Gita, Bhagavan Krishna makes a profound promise. He says that for those who are devoted to him with an undivided mind, he personally provides what they lack and preserves what they have. He takes on this burden because he wants us to move beyond the constant survival mode of worldly life. This is his way of creating space for our spiritual sadhana, reminding us that his grace is always present in what we receive and what is taken away.](https://assets.mytribe.in/insecure/raw:1/plain/s3://mytribe-assets-production/208e3d59-1c87-410b-8fe0-583792daa12c)
- [Video: Tantra is a widely misunderstood term, often wrongly associated with black magic or sexuality. The word itself means to weave or expand. Through the technology of Tantra, we are re-weaving the fabric of our life to align with its original, natural pattern. Practices like Hatha yoga, mudras, mantra, and pranayama are all part of this intricate discipline, designed to restore our innate harmony.](https://assets.mytribe.in/insecure/raw:1/plain/s3://mytribe-assets-production/9ef05ac6-a33d-42d9-bf5a-a71b96d8295d)
- ![The famous saying, "Yoga is 99% practice, 1% theory," is often misunderstood. The practice Sri K. Pattabhi Jois referred to was not just about mastering poses on a mat. - [Video: In Hatha yoga, we work with both dynamic and static approaches to asana. Dynamic movements prepare the body and circulate energy, while static holds build strength, patience, and allow for a deeper, more meditative experience. The choice between them depends on your goal and your state of being on any given day, allowing the practice to meet you exactly where you are.](https://assets.mytribe.in/insecure/raw:1/plain/s3://mytribe-assets-production/b54ee23f-b378-4f3a-bc11-f2e1aab520df)

## Meet your expert

[Manasa Rao](https://mytribe.in/yogaayush)

### My story

I’m Manasa. My journey with yoga started with wanting to know the 'why' behind every practice, not just the 'how.' Did a PhD at S-VYASA, got deep into Sāṅkhya philosophy, and realized yoga is more about living than bending. Being a mom to a teenager, I think a lot about what roots we give our kids. I teach with stories, chantings, not rules—just anchors. Home isn’t a place, it’s a feeling you carry, even when you wander.

### My work

- **What I Offer**: I teach online yoga therapy, chanting, Pranayama, Yoga Nidra healing, and deep yoga philosophy.
- **Breath Comes First**: I tune into your breath, not just your pose. That’s where real change happens.
- **Trauma-Informed Healing**: Healing is slow and gentle here. I create space for your body to feel safe again.
- **Beyond Stretching**: We use chanting and Yoga Nidra to unblock prana and settle the mind, not just stretch.
- **Student Over Customer**: Yoga with me is real, raw, and honest. If you’re seeking truth, not just fitness, you’ll fit in.
