It’s that freestyle circle where they stop worrying about being perfect and start actually feeling the music. Even at six years old, learning how to hold your own space and share energy with others is the real skill here. When I say I teach street dance, I mean the roots. A lot of dance classes for kids just have them memorize counts for a recital, but I am here to teach them how to understand the music. We spend a lot of time on the basics of Hip-Hop and House—the bounce, the footwork, and the groove. This isn't just about looking cool; it’s about body awareness and discipline. Classes are held in studios across Bengaluru, from RT Nagar to Electronic City. I keep the groups mixed in age because that’s how the culture works. Older students help the younger ones, and everyone learns that a slip or a fall in the studio is just part of the process. We drill the foundations until they become muscle memory, and then we switch to the cypher. That is where the confidence kicks in. Parents often ask me about performance anxiety or shyness. That is exactly what we tackle in the sessions. By the end of the month, we record a video of the routine, not for an audition, but to show them what they have achieved. If you want your child to learn discipline through movement while having a blast, this is the space. I am strict about practice, but we keep the vibe light. Whether it is a weekend batch or a one-on-one session to polish their style, the goal remains the same: honesty in movement and having the heart to show up. ## About Tilak Prabhu I’ve been living and breathing dance on the streets of Bengaluru for 13 years now. Teaching the next gen isn't just a job for me; it is about passing on the energy, the culture, and the freedom I found in Hip-Hop. I keep it real, keep it raw, and make sure every kid leaves with more confidence than they walked in with.
