Our students spend a huge portion of their time jamming in small groups rather than playing solo in isolation. You will be using real gear like Blackstar amps and guitar processors right from the start, so you learn how to dial in your own tone instead of just reading from a book. Our approach is built around the idea that music is a social skill. The 8-module path is designed to move you quickly through the basics of fretboard knowledge, chord transitions, and rhythm patterns, but it doesn't stop at the classroom door. ### Why our guitar students learn faster: * **Real Gear:** You aren't playing on plastic toys. We train on electric guitars using professional amplifiers, so you understand how signal chains and processors shape your sound. * **Song-Based Learning:** We don't make you slog through scales for months. We pick songs you actually listen to, then teach you the theory behind them. * **Band Integration:** You get to be part of the Yellow Lights Band. This changes your mindset—suddenly, you aren't just a student playing alone; you are a musician responsible for holding down the rhythm for the whole group. For those who need a structured path, we integrate Trinity College curriculum seamlessly into your learning, so you get the certification without losing the fun. If you are just starting, you will be playing your first riff in week one. If you are advanced, we help you break through plateaus with complex techniques, odd time signatures, and fingerstyle expression. ## About Yellow Lights I started Yellow Lights because I wanted a space where music feels like a conversation, not a lecture. We are not about boring drills; we are about getting you comfortable with the instrument, jamming with your peers, and finding the sound that is uniquely yours.
