They have to think on their feet, weave a story, and speak clearly in the moment. It is less about perfecting a script and more about learning to handle the unexpected—a skill that translates perfectly to school interviews and social interactions outside the classroom. ### Why Play is Our Secret Ingredient Many parents ask how playing with costumes, kitchen sets, and cardboard boxes helps a child speak better. The answer lies in removing the fear of judgement. When a child is wearing a wig or holding a pretend pan, they are no longer just themselves in a high-pressure spot; they are a character. That dissociation allows them to experiment with volume, intonation, and vocabulary without the self-consciousness that often plagues young speakers. ### The Magic Bag Method This is a staple in our Juhu classroom. We fill a bag with random objects—a rubber duck, a plastic spatula, a scarf. Students must pick one and immediately build a narrative. It is our way of teaching impromptu speaking without using academic jargon. They learn to structure a story with a beginning, middle, and end, and they learn to do it under pressure. This prepares them for real-world situations, from school presentations to group discussions. ### Beyond the Play While our sessions look like organized chaos, they are structured for progression. We monitor eye contact, posture, and pacing during these activities. We bridge these fun, messy moments with actual speech and drama techniques, ensuring that the confidence they build while acting out a cooking show follows them into a debate competition or an interview.
