Instead, you might see us challenging a student to link three unrelated pictures into a coherent story. We use these 'storyboard' exercises to teach sequencing, narrative structure, and vocabulary, all while the child thinks they are just playing a game. This is how we prove that confidence comes from having something to say, not just learning how to say it. ### Why We Blend Structure and Play At Yellow Brick Way, we see a false dichotomy between 'fun' and 'academic.' My philosophy is that a child needs both to grow. We use props, costumes, and games like Scrabble or custom sentence searches because they lower the barrier to entry, allowing shy children to participate without the pressure of a traditional classroom. ### Our Core Approach 1. **Trinity College London Alignment:** We use the framework of GESE and other Trinity exams to ensure there is a clear, measurable progression in vocal technique, phonology, and diction. We aren't just playing; we are working toward global communication standards. 2. **The 1-on-1 vs. Group Dynamic:** My curriculum recognizes that different settings serve different needs. Group sessions build teamwork and social confidence through shared activities like our 'Guest Speaker Week.' Meanwhile, our private sessions are strictly for micro-correction and skill-gap analysis, whether that is stuttering, reading lag, or interview prep. 3. **Beyond the Page:** Reading isn't just about finishing a book. We teach posture, eye contact, and the physical act of sharing a story. Whether we are making soap to learn sequencing or acting out scenes to understand 'The Big 4' (Pause, Phrasing, Emphasis, and Pitch), every activity has a specific pedagogical goal.
