We often suggest fading the existing ink just enough to let your artist work with a clean canvas for a new cover-up. This process is faster than full removal, but it still requires patience as your skin needs at least 30 days of healing time between sessions to ensure safety and the best results. ### How We Approach Tattoo Fading When you come to us for a cover-up, the goal isn't just to erase the past, but to make room for something new. We use PicoSure laser technology, which is effective for breaking down ink pigments while remaining safe for your skin. Fading is different from total removal. If you are preparing for a cover-up, we do not need to blast away every trace of the old ink. We only need to lighten it enough so that your new design can blend seamlessly without the old lines peeking through. This typically requires fewer sessions than a full removal, making it a more efficient path to the tattoo you actually want. ### The Process at Jayanagar Every session at our Jayanagar studio follows a standard safety protocol.
