Whether it is a custom brass inlay set into marble or the way teak wood connects to a wall, these joints determine the quality of the final build. It is not just about what you see, but how these elements feel and perform over years of daily use. For us, the spirit of a room lies in the friction between materials. A space feels flat when everything is uniform, which is why we spend so much time designing for contrast. We might pair the cool, reflective surface of Michelangelo marble with the warmth of fluted teak, using metal strips to define where one ends and the other begins. ### Why Details Matter Details are not just decorative choices. When we design a door handle or a staircase railing, we consider the weight, the grip, and the way light hits the surface. A circular brass sconce against a dark wooden panel is not just for lighting, it is a way to create a mood during the evening hours. By paying attention to these intersections, we ensure that every element in your home serves a purpose beyond its primary function. ### The Process of Craft Our work starts with a sketch, but it moves to the site long before the final finishes go on. We manage the structural integration of stone, wood, and light to ensure that custom features like wall paneling or niche shelves align perfectly with your existing walls. This hands-on approach allows us to fix potential issues early and maintain the integrity of our original design concept throughout the build process. ## About Worno We are Worno Architects, a design studio where nature meets structure.
