We don't just talk about it, we drill it. You will learn the exact communication between striker and non-striker, when to call 'yes' or 'no', and how to use speed work to turn singles into doubles. If you aren't sweating during these match simulations, you aren't playing long-format cricket properly. ### Building Match Temperament Most academies focus on T20 hitting, but that is not how you build a solid foundation. At our Newlands Ground facility, we prioritize the 40 to 50 over format. This is where you learn to value your wicket, play the situation, and build an innings. ### Why Practice on Turf Wickets Artificial nets are fine for muscle memory, but they do not teach you the game. We provide access to four turf wickets where the ball behaves as it would in a real match. You need to understand how the pitch changes throughout the day, how the ball swings under different conditions, and how to adapt your footwork accordingly. ### Weekly Match Simulation We host competitive matches every week to bridge the gap between training and real-game pressure. It is not just about swinging the bat. It is about: * **Partnership Building:** Understanding when to rotate the strike and when to defend. * **Game Sense:** Reading the field, identifying gaps, and planning your shots against specific bowling variations. * **Mental Toughness:** Staying focused even after two hours on the field. Whether you are a medium pacer learning to use variations or a batsman working on your stance, these matches are where your technique gets tested. We focus on the fundamentals because that is what holds up when the pressure is on. ## About World XI Cricket Academy Cricket is my life, not just my business. I started this academy because I wanted to create a place where serious players get actual guidance on Newlands Ground, not just fake promises. If you are here to build a career in the long format, I am here to help you get there.
