Classes here aren't formal lectures; we sit on the floor on mats, just like in the traditional gurukul style, which helps with posture and breath control while keeping the vibe relaxed and community-focused. ### A Space for Every Learner At our centers in Basavanagudi and Malleshwaram, we believe that the environment is just as important as the curriculum. Our classrooms are designed to be inclusive spaces where a four-year-old child and an adult learner can both feel at home. Whether you are here for Carnatic vocal lessons or beginning your journey with the bansuri, you will find a setting that balances discipline with encouragement. ### Why Our Approach Works * **Small Batches:** By limiting group sizes to 4-8 students, our gurus can correct micro-errors in pitch and rhythm that often get missed in larger settings. This ensures you progress at your own pace. * **Diverse Traditions:** We teach both Hindustani and Carnatic music, as well as Western instruments. Our infrastructure supports this variety, from traditional floor seating for vocalists to setup for guitar and keyboard practice. * **Inclusive Learning:** We are proud to support diverse learning journeys, including students with special needs and homeschoolers who use music as a core part of their education. ### Mentorship Over Instruction Our gurus are here to guide you, not just to dictate notes. You will find that our sessions are about dialogue. If you are struggling with a specific raag or a complex guitar riff, we take the time to break it down. We provide written notations for most lessons to help you practice effectively at home, whether you are preparing for a performance at our annual Kalaa Sangama or just learning for the joy of it. ## About World Music Conservatory We see our classrooms as a second home where age and background fade away. Whether you are a four-year-old picking up a guitar or an adult finally learning to sing Carnatic ragas, we are here to support your journey. We don't just teach music; we build a family around it.
