After 20 years of chasing the perfect beat, here are the milestones and moments that define my approach to the dance floor. ## Photos and videos - ![Wishing everyone a Happy New Year and reflecting on an incredible 2022. It was a year of playing alongside global legends like Black Coffee and Tale of Us, and I'm filled with gratitude for everyone who danced with me.](https://assets.mytribe.in/insecure/raw:1/plain/s3://mytribe-assets-production/611e5588-4480-4fcc-be4b-e0fe926a3ee3) ## About Personal Reflections Hiring a DJ is more than just booking someone to play songs. After two decades behind the decks, I know that reading the room is 80% of the job. Whether it is an intimate brunch or a high-energy club night, the setup matters just as much as the playlist. If the gear—specifically the mixer and monitors—isn't calibrated perfectly, the energy just doesn't land the way it should. My story started in Cochin and evolved through years of playing at some of the most iconic venues in the country. From those early days at Fuga, where the crowds were so dense they danced on the staircases, to sharing stages with legends like Black Coffee and Tale of Us, every set has been a masterclass in reading a crowd. ### The Craft Behind the Set I don't just show up and press play. My 20-year journey is built on 'crate digging'—constantly finding new cuts, edits, and tracks that keep the vibe fresh. Whether I am playing a progressive house set or an old-school hip-hop throwdown, the goal is always the same: keeping that energy from dropping. ### Why Tech Matters I am specific about equipment for a reason. To deliver the sound I promise, I require industry-standard Pioneer setups (CDJ 2000 NXS2 or 3000). Why? Because consistency matters. When you hire me, you aren't just paying for the music; you are paying for the technical reliability that ensures the sound quality remains crisp from the first track to the last. ### My Approach to Events Whether it's a corporate gig or a Sunday sundowner at Mirage, I treat every session like a headlining performance. I don't use pre-recorded mixes. Every transition is live, adapting to the crowd’s mood in real-time. This is what I bring to every show—the experience of a veteran DJ who knows exactly when to push the tempo and when to let the music breathe. ## About Vishnu Bhagawaldas I’m Vishnu, and for me, DJing isn't just a career; it’s my calling.
