Your puppy does not need twenty types of expensive chew toys or a designer bed on day one. A simple stainless steel bowl, a washable mat, and a consistent routine for potty training are the only true essentials you need to start with. Most new parents overspend on gadgets when they bring a puppy home. Stick to the basics: stainless steel bowls are hygienic and do not slide around, a sturdy leash is essential, and enzyme cleaners are mandatory for those inevitable accidents. Potty training is not about magic. It is about routine and repetition. Pick one spot, whether it is a pee pad inside or a corner outside, and stick to it. Every time they get it right, that is your cue to celebrate with treats and praise. They learn through smell and consistency, not by accident. Be honest with yourself about the time and money. Puppies are naturally curious, meaning they will explore your shoes, books, and even your laptop wires. Budget for 3,000 to 7,000 rupees monthly for essentials like food, vaccines, and basic grooming. It is a long-term promise, not a short-term project. We know the anxiety of wondering if you are doing it right. Whether it is decoding strange behavior or figuring out why they have the zoomies, we have walked this path too. We do not believe in gyaan. We believe in sharing what actually works so you can enjoy the messy, amazing phase of puppy parenting. ## About Sploot We are just a bunch of dog parents who have survived the puppy phase and lived to tell the tale.
