Rather than imposing a structure on the landscape, we mapped every existing mango tree before breaking ground, winding our driveway around roots, and puncturing our rooflines to invite the canopy inside. ### Our Philosophy of Site Integration Our approach to architectural forms in nature stems from a belief that a building should feel like an extension of its environment, not an intrusion. When we approach a plot of land, we start by listening to the site. We treat the existing topography as a partner in the design process rather than a constraint to be overcome. ### Site-Responsive Planning We do not force a site to submit to our design. Instead, we use solar orientation, wind path analysis, and existing vegetation as our primary constraints. For the Mango Orchard House, this meant a 13,000 sq.ft. footprint that navigates the natural density of the orchard. By utilizing monolithic forms and open-to-sky courtyards, we create a continuous, blurred boundary between the interiors and the outdoors. ### Structural Integrity and Minimalism Our design language is rooted in restraint. We favor clean lines, double-height volumes, and large structural voids that frame the sky and garden. By focusing on material honesty, using local stone, reclaimed teak, and textured renders, we ensure the structure ages gracefully within its natural setting. ### How We Can Collaborate If you have a plot and are looking to create a residence that honors its natural context, we would love to collaborate.
