When I take on a civic project, I manage the surface preparation and apply UV-resistant protective sealants so the mural remains vibrant even in India's monsoon-drenched streets. Public art is where my street art hands meet the city's pulse. It is not just about painting a wall; it is about creating a landmark that belongs to everyone. When I work on civic commissions, like my award-winning project for the Mumbai Metro, the technical approach differs significantly from a private residential mural. ### The Process of Painting the City Public walls face sun, pollution, and heavy foot traffic. I use high-grade exterior emulsions and heavy-duty varnish sealants to ensure the colors hold up against the elements. If you are planning a public art initiative, we start with feasibility—assessing the surface, understanding the daily footfall, and navigating local requirements. ### Why Civic Art Matters Art in public spaces acts as a visual anchor. It changes how people experience their daily commute. Whether it is a metro station, a park wall, or a community center, the goal is to spark curiosity. I love turning transit corridors into spaces that make people stop, look, and smile. ### Collaborating for Change I have worked with government bodies, NGOs, and private organizers to beautify urban landscapes. If you have a wall in Mumbai, Bengaluru, or Hyderabad that needs a soul, let’s jam. I handle the concept design, team coordination, and final execution, ensuring your project is as durable as it is beautiful. ## About Vritti Kotian I am Vritti, but my friends call me Sunflower. I live for the chaos of creation and am happiest when my art is out in the streets where thousands of people can interact with it daily.
