Whether I'm recording original music or prepping for a live gig, I keep my sessions real—I even leave in the imperfections. It’s about building a vocal foundation that holds up when you’re on stage, not just when you’re standing in a quiet room. ### Behind the Music My vocal practice is a constant blend of structure and play. When I'm not on stage, I'm usually in the studio dissecting the mechanics of a riff or finding new ways to approach a classic. You’ll often find me 'vocal doodling'—a practice I use to loosen up and explore the limits of my range before a teaching session or a recording. ### My Approach to Coaching & Performance I treat my voice like an instrument that needs constant maintenance. This is why I focus on building strong vocal habits in my coaching students. We don't just 'sing'; we talk about the science, the airflow, and the muscle memory required to pull off something like a Yebba octave leap or the restraint needed for a jazz ballad.
