At our Shivaji Park ground, we focus on the fine details—the weight distribution needed for a perfect reverse hand touch or the split-second timing required for a chain tackle. It is about being 'fit' in the truest sense, because on the mat, if your body isn't ready for the impact, even the best strategy won't help you. ### Mastering the Art of the Raid When you see our players on the mat, you aren't just seeing a match; you are seeing the result of 12 months of daily practice. Whether it is an ankle hold that stops a raider in their tracks or a 'Superman Dash' that clears the court, these moves are drilled into our players until they become instinct. ### Why Red Soil Matters We train on traditional red soil (mitti). This isn't just tradition; it provides a level of grip and resistance that synthetic mats cannot replicate. It builds endurance in the legs and forces players to develop a deeper, more powerful center of gravity. This is where we forge the strength that helps players like Ajinkya Kapare and Akshay Soni excel at the professional level. ### Tactical Breakdown * **Offensive Raiding:** We teach raiders to exploit gaps in the defensive chain. This involves using feints and speed to draw defenders out of position. * **Defensive Coordination:** Defense is won or lost in the chain. Our drills focus on trust—knowing exactly when your teammate will move to support a tackle. * **Fitness First:** If the body isn't fit, a player is zero. We combine bodyweight conditioning with agility drills to ensure our squad is ready for 40 minutes of high-intensity play.
