In my sessions, we sit in a circle and use whiteboards to map out raga structures and rhythm patterns together. Whether we are breaking down a complex Konnakol pattern or exploring vocal improvisation, the goal is always to make the theory feel as natural and intuitive as humming a tune. ### Our Approach to Learning Teaching, for me, is an extension of the Guru Parampara tradition I grew up with. It is not about a one-way transfer of knowledge, but a conversation. In these workshops, we prioritize the practical application of sound over dry theory. Whether we are in a studio in Bangalore or holding an online session, I focus on building a comfortable space where every voice matters. ### What We Explore Our sessions dive into the heart of Indian classical music while leaving room for modern experimentation: * **Raga & Melodic Frameworks:** We demystify ragas by sketching their contours on whiteboards, helping you visualize the melodies rather than just memorizing them. * **Rhythm & Konnakol:** We practice the vocal percussion system of Konnakol to internalize complex talas. It is about feeling the rhythm in your body before you try to sing it. * **Improvisation & Fusion:** For those interested in jazz or global styles, we explore how to apply Indian swara structures over Western chord changes. We often use group circle singing exercises to encourage spontaneity. ### Who Should Join These workshops are for curious souls. You don’t need to be an expert. If you are a singer, a student of music, or an instrumentalist looking to understand Carnatic rhythm or vocal techniques, you will find a home here.
