## About Solo Tabla Compositions

Unlike many who focus only on speed, I focus on the 'why' of every stroke, applying concepts from different gharanas like Lucknow or Jaipur to create rhythmic puzzles. When you listen to these solos, notice how I treat the tabla not just as an accompaniment tool, but as a complete melodic voice. If you are looking for someone to bring this level of technicality and authentic classical structure to your project—whether it is a fusion track or a documentary background score—let’s talk about the specific kaida or taal that fits your vision.

My approach to solo tabla is rooted in the rigorous training passed down by my father, Pt. Sunil Banerjee, and the legendary masters of various gharanas. I do not just play patterns; I study the *bols*—the language of the tabla—to create music that breathes and tells a story.

### The Technical Foundation
In these compositions, I explore everything from common cycles like Teental to more challenging, lesser-known taals like Rupak or Matta taal. You will hear examples of 'Antakshari Chakradars', where phrases lock into one another, and 'bedam farmaishi' compositions that defy simple categorization. This is where tradition meets the puzzle-solving nature of rhythm.

### Why This Matters for Your Project
If you are a producer or composer looking for something beyond generic drum loops, a custom-recorded solo composition provides the backbone of your track. Whether it is a 7-beat cycle for an experimental piece or a deep, traditional Kaida to establish a classical mood, I record these with the same focus on acoustic detail—high-resolution stems, proper mic placement, and grid-locked editing—that I bring to concert stages.

### Collaboration
I am based in Mumbai, but most of my collaboration for these types of compositions happens remotely. You provide the reference or the vibe, and I provide the rhythmic architecture that elevates your sound. We can start with a simple discussion about the required tempo and complexity, and I will handle the rest.

## About Unmesh Banerjee

I treat the tabla as more than an instrument; it is a lifelong conversation. Whether I am teaching a student or recording a solo, my goal remains the same: to find the perfect balance between the traditional techniques I learned from my gurus and the creative freedom music offers today.
