Each of these events involves days of rehearsals, precise sound checks, and often long-distance travel to ensure the tabla is tuned perfectly to the main artist's scale. If you are planning an event or concert and looking for someone who understands the rigour of these preparations, let's chat about your specific requirements. ### Behind the Performance Every poster you see here represents more than just a date on the calendar. It represents a commitment to the art form. Whether it is a 24-hour Ragas Live Festival in Brooklyn or an intimate baithak in Irvine, the preparation remains the same. I treat every performance—whether it is an accompaniment for a sarod legend or a fusion set with a jazz band—with the same level of detail. This involves: * **Scale-Specific Tuning:** I carry backup instruments to handle mid-concert changes, ensuring seamless interaction with the lead artist. * **Collaborative Rehearsal:** I prioritize dedicated pre-event sessions to align on the rhythm cycles and the flow of the jugalbandi. * **Versatility:** My experience spans from traditional classical accompaniment to high-energy corporate fusion, meaning I can adapt my stage presence and percussion rig to suit your event's specific vibe. ### Why These Moments Matter These announcements aren't just a record of where I have been; they are a testament to the trust fellow artists place in me. From sharing the stage with Sounak Da in Pune to working with international musicians in St. Helena, my focus is always on creating that 'Wah wah' moment where the music just flows. If you are organizing a festival, a private concert, or a fusion event and want a performer who brings both technical precision and deep respect for the tradition, I am ready to bring the tabla to your stage. ## About Unmesh Banerjee I’ve been playing the tabla since I was six, and today, I consider it a true blessing to share the stage with maestros I’ve looked up to all my life.
