In these sessions, we focus on edges—hard and soft transitions that turn a flat sketch into a three-dimensional form—giving you the control to make your subject breathe on paper. Every painting starts in the mind. Before a single drop of paint hits the paper, we spend time understanding structure, whether it is the anatomy of an ear or the reflection in an iris. My teaching method focuses on breaking down the intimidation of a blank page. We start with graphite studies to master tonal values and shapes, ensuring your foundation is rock solid before moving to color. Why process matters: Many beginners rush into color, missing the essential work of mapping light and shadow. We learn to see like an artist first. Workshop Format: These are not watch and repeat videos. We work together on Zoom in small groups, which allows me to see your strokes in real time and provide immediate, course-correcting feedback. If you miss a live session, you get full access to the recordings. Materials: You do not need an expensive kit to start. We use simple tools: 300gsm paper, basic watercolor sets, and reliable brushes. The real skill is in the observation, not the tools. Whether you are in our 3-month comprehensive mentorship or a 2-day focused workshop, the goal remains the same: finding that quiet, meditative space where art happens.
