We achieve this by using common flooring, such as IPS or Kota stone, across both zones. This visually links the spaces while allowing us to define each area with custom furniture, such as rattan-back teak chairs or a central dining bench, keeping the atmosphere open yet intentional. A home that connects is a home that works. We focus on open-plan layouts that encourage conversation, moving away from closed-off rooms to spaces that breathe. ### Why Material Choices Matter We avoid standard laminates that peel and fade. Instead, we look at the foundation of your home. Using materials like Kota stone, Jaisalmer yellow sandstone, and IPS (Indian Patent Stone) flooring with brass inlays provides a finish that handles Bengaluru’s climate well and actually looks better as it ages. These materials are thermally comfortable, staying cool in the summer and warm in the winter. ### Designing for How You Live Your furniture should be part of the architecture, not just an object in the room. Our custom sofas use high-density foam and natural rattan weaving, which is breathable and stays cool, unlike heavy synthetic upholstery. We map out your usage patterns in our Arekere workshop, ensuring your dining set fits your needs. Do you need a 6-seater table for large family meals, or a flexible dining bench that slides away to save space? We tailor every inch to your lifestyle. ### Our Process We believe that true quality lies in the details. From the archways seen in our Villa 17 project to the jack-arch roofs in Audumbara, every element is crafted to make your home feel grounded. We use locally sourced teak and rubberwood, which significantly lowers the carbon footprint compared to imported, high-processed materials. By handling design and execution in-house, we ensure that the vision we draw is exactly what you get at home. ## About Tropic Responses At Tropic Responses, we build homes that feel like they belong to the tropics, using local hands and materials.
