Instead of standard layouts, I map how you move through the space during your morning routine. This means placing lighting to soften your reflection, selecting stone for its tactile warmth, and ensuring the acoustics promote silence. It is not just about the fixtures, but about how the room makes you feel before you even start your day. Bathrooms and powder rooms are often the most intimate spaces in a home. They require a distinct approach because they are where we spend our most vulnerable moments. My process starts with neuroarchitecture, looking at how color, light, and geometry influence your psychological state. ### The Choice of Materials In my practice, I favor natural stone like Italian marble for its inherent thermal mass and unique veining. Unlike mass-produced tiles, natural stone connects you to the earth. For a powder room, I might introduce bold wallpapers or rich, dark cabinetry to shift the energy of the space. This is not about being flashy, but about creating an environment that feels distinct from the rest of your home. ### Lighting for Mood Lighting in a bathroom should never be harsh. I work with layered lighting schemes: ambient cove lights for a soft, diffused glow in the evening, and focused task lighting near mirrors to ensure utility without glare. This attention to detail prevents the room from feeling clinical. ### Practical Planning Beyond the aesthetic, I manage the technical side of the project. This includes planning for concealed storage that keeps surfaces clear, managing waterproofing with absolute precision, and ensuring your vanity is ergonomically scaled to your height. Whether it is a grand washroom with a sculptural tub or a compact guest powder room, the goal is to make the space feel intentional, calm, and entirely yours. ## About Transform Design I am Ashmit.
