Before any student represents us in an interclub match, they undergo weeks of specific technical drills and controlled sparring. We make sure their ring IQ and defensive skills are match-ready, not just fitness-ready. Winning a medal is just the final 10 percent of the work. The real victory happens during the months of training at our Hegde Nagar facility, where students learn to manage fatigue, read an opponent, and execute under pressure. ### The Path to the Ring We don't put kids in the ring until they have mastered the basics. The journey starts with our Youth Boxing Fundamentals program, where we drill stance, guard, and footwork until it is second nature. Only when technique is solid do we introduce controlled, light-contact sparring with proper headgear. ### Why We Compete Competition is the ultimate stress test. It forces a fighter to apply what they have learned in the gym against an unpredictable opponent. We focus on interclub events because they provide a safe, regulated environment for students to experience the intensity of a real fight. ### What We Teach - **Ring Craft:** Understanding spacing, angles, and timing. - **Defensive Discipline:** Parrying, rolling, and slipping punches before thinking about throwing back. - **Mental Fortitude:** Learning to stay calm when the adrenaline spikes. This is not a daycare program. If you are looking for a place where your child will be challenged to become their best, most resilient self, this is where you start. ## About Tiger Tongue I built this gym to give young athletes a place to test their mettle. Whether it is their first interclub bout or a dedicated fight camp, I guide every student through the mental and physical grind of combat sports.
