They are deeply integrated into our Kathak training. You are not just memorizing bols like 'Dha' or 'Tirkit'; you are learning to play for a dancer. Watching a student find their rhythm against the live beat is exactly how we train you—by feeling the taal in the room, not just on the pad. ### Learning the Language of Rhythm At Thirkan, we believe that the tabla is more than an instrument; it is the heartbeat of Indian classical dance. Our sessions are built on the Guru-Shishya tradition, ensuring you learn with the same discipline and focus that has been passed down to us. We break down the complex world of rhythm into manageable pieces. You will start with the fundamental hand placements—the *Nikaas*—ensuring every *Na, Tin, and Dha* rings with clarity. From there, we move into the theory of common taals like Keherwa and Teentaal. ### Why Live Accompaniment Matters The unique advantage of our institute in Noida is the bridge between our music and dance departments. In our sessions, you aren't playing against a pre-recorded track. You are learning to accompany Kathak dancers. This interaction teaches you to listen to *Laya* (tempo) and adjust your play in real-time. It is how you develop the intuitive skill of a professional percussionist. ### For Everyone Whether you are a complete beginner looking to understand sargam or an advanced student preparing for exams from boards like Prayag Sangeet Samiti or Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, our curriculum is structured to support you. We keep batch sizes small, so you get individual attention for your posture and hand positioning. If you have the patience to learn the basics, we provide the environment and the tools to help you find your pace. ## About Thirkan We are Thirkan, and for us, music isn't a hobby; it’s a direct line to our Gurus. We’ve built our studio on the belief that whether you're a child or an adult, you learn best when you're part of a community that truly listens to the rhythm.
