We focus on getting kids comfortable on stage. Whether your child is naturally shy or full of energy, we use warm-ups and team exercises to make sure they feel at home. By the time they perform, they are not just following a routine, they are owning it. ### Why Folk Dance for Kids? Indian folk dance is a beautiful way for *bachhe* to connect with their culture while staying active. It teaches rhythm, discipline, and the sheer joy of movement. At Thirkan, we make sure every session feels like a celebration, not a chore. ### What We Teach Our curriculum goes beyond just the basics: * **Garba & Dandiya:** We teach authentic Gujarati steps, from 'do tali' to the more advanced 'dodiya' and 'Dakla'. * **Regional Folk:** We explore diversity through Lavani, Uttarakhandi folk, and Gidda, introducing kids to different cultural expressions. * **Stage Readiness:** We don't hide our students in the back. Our goal is to prepare them for real stages, like our annual Aarohan event or community Dandiya nights. ### The Thirkan Difference We keep our batches small so every child gets attention. We understand that kids have different learning speeds, so we break down complex formations into simple, manageable pieces. Whether it is handling dandiya sticks or managing traditional costumes like Chaniya Choli, we guide them through the practical details so they perform with confidence. Our classes are held in an air-conditioned studio with professional flooring, providing a safe and energetic environment for your child to learn and grow. ## About Thirkan We are Thirkan. For us, teaching kids is about much more than dance; it is about passing on the joy of our culture. We love seeing our students grow from their first practice to the final stage performance.
