We focus on Abhinaya and aesthetic movement, taking popular tracks, from film songs to soulful melodies, and giving them a classical spin. Whether you are a total beginner or looking for a creative weekend outlet, you will learn to tell a story through dance while having a great time. ### Why Join Our Semi-Classical Classes? Many students come to us wanting to explore Indian dance but find the traditional path a bit too demanding for their current lifestyle. Our semi-classical program bridges that gap. We take the foundation of Kathak spins and Bharatnatyam hand gestures and apply them to the songs you hear on the radio or in films. ### What to Expect * **Focus on Abhinaya:** Unlike our rigorous Kathak batches, here we prioritize your facial expressions and grace. It is about how you carry the music rather than just hitting the perfect footwork. * **Trending Choreography:** We pick songs that are currently popular—think tracks from Heeramandi or Bajirao Mastani—and create routines that are perfect for performance or your personal social media reel. * **Weekend Schedule:** We know life is busy, so these are 8-session-per-month courses held on weekends. It is the perfect way to unwind after a long work week. ### Frequently Asked Questions **Do I need prior classical dance training?** Not at all. This batch is designed for beginners. We teach you everything you need to know about posture and basic hand movements as part of the choreography. **Is this suitable for all ages?** Yes. Our semi-classical sessions are popular among ladies and young adults looking for a stress-buster that feels more artistic than a typical gym workout. **Where do we practice?** Our studio is in Sector 74, Noida, equipped with professional flooring so you can move comfortably and safely. ## About Thirkan At Thirkan, we believe dance should be a conversation between tradition and modern life.
