At The Urban Dawg, that is exactly who I am to your pup—a protector, an attendant, and a dedicated friend providing real, home-style care. ## Photos and videos - ![The Hawaiian principle of 'Kahu' perfectly describes my relationship with dogs. As their guardian, I am committed to protecting and cherishing them. They are not property, but a piece of my soul, and their wellbeing always comes first.](https://assets.mytribe.in/insecure/raw:1/plain/s3://mytribe-assets-production/0a25e767-5558-432b-b47c-f6624f36e161) ## About My Kahu Philosophy When your dog stays here, they are not just a guest in a kennel. Because I view myself as a 'Kahu', I give them the one thing often missing in boarding: choice. Whether it is choosing to nap on a bean bag or sunbathe on the terrace, your dog leads their own day, which is the fastest way to reduce separation anxiety and keep them happy while you are away. The term 'Kahu' represents a total shift in mindset. Traditional kennels operate on control, confinement, and rigid schedules. My approach is the opposite. I believe that when a dog feels like a prisoner, they shut down. When they feel like a cherished member of a pack, they thrive. This means no locking dogs in crates. At my Tharabanahalli home, your dog has free reign. They sleep on real furniture, they wander the rooftop, and they interact with my resident 'Brat Pack'—my own rescue dogs who show newcomers the ropes. It is all about those pack vibes. This is not just a philosophy; it is a strategy for stress-free boarding. Many clients come to me after a bad experience at a commercial facility where their dog returned anxious or sick. By stripping away the 'owner' dynamic and replacing it with 'guardian' care, I am able to read their stress signals early, adjust their diet, and ensure they feel safe. Whether it is an anxious rescue or a senior dog needing mobility aid, they are not just being managed; they are being looked after. No cages, no drama, just unconditional love for your dawgs. ## About The Urban Dawg I am Devisri, and I live with a pack of dogs who have completely changed my worldview. I do not believe in owning dogs, only in protecting them and helping them live their best, instinctual lives right here in North Bengaluru.
