Our sessions require you to be right there on the floor with your child—clapping along to the tabla, shaking maracas, or dancing with scarves. We have specifically designed this for children aged 6 months to 4 years because your active participation is the heartbeat of the session. Whether we are singing folk songs or exploring the notes of a raga, you are their primary partner in discovery, making the music feel safe, familiar, and fun for them. At The Sound Space, we believe music is not something you study; it is something you live. Our parent-toddler music sessions are built on the philosophy that a parent’s presence is the most powerful learning tool a child has. We move away from the traditional, rigid classroom setup. Instead, we create a screen-free, high-energy environment where the goal is connection, not musical perfection. We take traditional concepts like Swaras (Sa-Re-Ga-Ma) and Taal and turn them into play. Through storytelling, movement, and hands-on exposure to instruments like the sitar, djembe, and manjira, children naturally absorb the foundations of Hindustani classical music without the pressure of exams or stage performances. We use props like colorful scarves, shakers, and sensory mats to make high and low pitches tangible for little minds. We understand that toddlers have their own rhythm. Our sessions are conducted in safe, sound-treated spaces with soft flooring at locations across Mumbai, including Luminous Minds in Lower Parel, Midcity Studios in Worli, and our main hub in Malabar Hill. Each session lasts 45 to 60 minutes, carefully timed to keep your child engaged without feeling overwhelmed. Whether you are a musical pro or someone who just likes to hum in the shower, these workshops are for you. Come join us to see how a simple clapping game or a nursery rhyme can grow into a lifelong friendship with art. ## About The Sound Space We are Kamakshi and Vishala, sisters who believe music is the ultimate form of connection. Our programs were born from our own journey as mothers and musicians, designed to be a space where you and your toddler can explore, play, and just be.
