## About From Classroom to Center Stage: Our Student Showcases

We don't just teach music, we create spaces to perform it. Our annual 'Sakhya' showcase at the Royal Opera House is not about being perfect, it is about the courage to stand on a stage and share a song. Whether you are a shy beginner or a seasoned student, we ensure you have the support of professional accompanists and a warm, encouraging audience to back you up. Every note you sing on stage helps us fund our community initiatives, making your journey meaningful.

Music education often focuses purely on the classroom, but we believe the stage is a classroom of a different kind. For us, putting together a show like 'Sakhya' involves more than just vocal training. It starts months in advance at rehearsal spaces like Bay Owl Studios, where our students work with professional tabla and harmonium players. This process transforms solo practice into collective harmony. We see toddlers, teens, and adults sharing the same stage, breaking down the barrier between 'professional' and 'amateur'. Our events serve a dual purpose. Beyond building confidence, many of our showcases act as fundraisers. When we perform at landmarks like the Gateway of India or the Royal Opera House, we are not just celebrating art, we are supporting our 'Sound Space on Wheels' initiative. This connects our students' hard work directly to our mission of taking music education to underserved communities. If you join our terms, you are not just signing up for 12 weeks of theory. You are signing up for the journey that leads to these moments. We provide the costumes, the professional bands, and the stage management. All you need to bring is your commitment to learning. Whether you are exploring Hindustani classical music for the first time or looking to reconnect with your voice, you will find a place in our performance choir.

## About The Sound Space

We are sisters Kamakshi and Vishala. We started this space to take music out of the rigid, exam-focused box and turn it into a shared experience. When you join us, you are not just a student, you are a member of our growing musical family.
