We turn concepts like Dussehra or Ganesh Chaturthi into hands-on experiences where your toddler learns by doing, whether they are painting Ravana masks or using earbuds for dot painting. It is messy, interactive, and gives your child a tangible connection to the stories and traditions they hear about at home. We believe that festivals are a perfect bridge to help children understand our heritage. At The Reading Room, we do not just celebrate; we immerse the kids in the narrative through play. For Dussehra, we do not just discuss the story, we watch a short movie, learn fun facts, and make our own ten-headed masks. When Janmashtami arrives, we create Dahi Handi crafts to understand the story of Lord Krishna. These activities are specifically designed for the 1.5 to 3 age group. We focus on sensory play, fine motor development, and simple storytelling that a toddler can grasp. We want every child to feel the joy of the festival through their own creations. Our space becomes a hub of excitement where toddlers dress up, enact scenes like our mini Ramleela, and share festive snacks. It is a screen-free environment where the focus remains on social interaction, friendship, and the simple happiness of belonging to a community. Whether it is Christmas with healthy fruit snacks or Diwali with sensory play using traditional items like bangles, we ensure every celebration is age-appropriate, engaging, and memorable. ## About The Reading Room I am Riddhika, and I started The Reading Room because I wanted a space where kids get off screens and dive into real-world fun. Whether it is reenacting a tiny Ramleela or painting masks for Dussehra, I love watching the children embrace our traditions with such genuine excitement. It is not just about the festival; it is about building a community where kids feel at home.
