Whether you are curious about hand-building techniques or want to see how resin and clay blend together, these pieces represent the hours of patience and personal discovery our artists poured into their work. Our 'Clay Beyond Mugs' exhibition was born from a simple desire to push boundaries. At The Potter's Place, we often spend our time on the wheel, but this collection allowed our community members to step out of their comfort zones and explore non-functional art. ### Featured Artistic Techniques This gallery highlights the diversity of work happening right here in our HSR Layout studio: * **Mixed Media Fusion:** You will see pieces where traditional clay meets modern resin, creating textures you rarely find in standard pottery. * **Sculptural Hand-Building:** Many of these items were built without a wheel, focusing on organic shapes and architectural forms that defy the usual symmetry of thrown pots. * **Intricate Surface Decoration:** From Sgraffito carving to detailed underglaze painting, our artists used clay as a canvas for landscapes and nature-inspired narratives. ### Meet the Artists This collection includes work from students and fellow artists like Meena Telang, Anitha Balu, Sharmila Nair, and Deikim. Each of them brought their own perspective, whether it was capturing the rhythms of the earth or testing the limits of structural stability with tall vases and lamps. If you find yourself inspired by these pieces, you do not need to be a pro to get started. Our studio is open to anyone curious about the process. We run regular workshops where we strip away the intimidation factor, focusing on the joy of messy hands and the meditative pace of working with clay. If you have been looking for a creative outlet in Bangalore, come by, talk to us, and see what you can create with your own two hands. ## About The Potter's Place I'm Bhavya, and seeing my students grow into artists is my greatest joy. At The Potter's Place, we believe clay is a journey—one that is messy, meditative, and always better when shared with our community.
