## About The Magic of the Wheel: Your First Spin

The first thing you will notice is how much clay demands you stay present. We start by wedging to remove air bubbles—a rhythmic, physical process—before moving to the wheel to learn centering. It is rarely perfect on the first try, but that is the point. You will likely finish with clay on your clothes, but you will also leave with your own hand-thrown creation.

### Finding Your Rhythm at the Wheel

Many people come to my studio in Jona Pur with a fear of getting things wrong. My philosophy is simple: Artist ka matlab hai galti karna (Being an artist means making mistakes). If you do not make mistakes, how will you find something new?

In this 120-minute session, we move past the fear of perfection.

**What the session covers:**
* **Wedging:** Preparing the clay by hand to remove air bubbles and ensure consistency.
* **Centering:** The crucial first step on the electric wheel. I guide your hands to help you understand the pressure needed to keep the clay steady.
* **Shaping:** Learning to pull the clay upwards into a cylinder, bowl, or cup.

**The Reality of Pottery**
Ceramics is a slow process. After you finish throwing, your piece needs to dry, go through bisque firing, be glazed, and finally, through a high-fire glaze firing. This process takes 3 to 4 weeks. My team handles the trimming, handle attachment, and firing process to ensure your piece is durable and food-safe. You will return to the studio to collect your work once it is finished.

Whether you are looking for a weekend hobby, a bit of therapy, or just want to try something hands-on with a friend, this session is designed to make you comfortable. You do not need to bring anything—just wear clothes you do not mind getting a little muddy. All materials, including unlimited practice clay during the session and the final firing, are included.

## About The Potter's Life

I am Suvajit. I left the art colleges of Kolkata behind to find my rhythm here in Delhi, where the wheel is my teacher. My studio is a space for you to get messy, make mistakes, and find your own shape in the clay.
