## About The Alchemist's Fire: Raku & Horsehair Firing

Raku firing isn't just pottery; it's a high-stakes dance with heat. In this workshop, we pull red-hot pieces from the kiln at 1000°C and plunge them into combustible materials. You will need focus and safety gear, but the result—a piece transformed by smoke, fire, and crackle patterns—is worth every bit of the intensity.

Raku is different from traditional pottery. While most ceramics are about control and patience, Raku is about reaction and timing. Over three days, we guide you through sculpting thermal-shock-resistant clay, mastering the gas kiln, and managing the reduction chamber where the real transformation happens.

### The Process
We don't just teach you the steps; we teach you to respect the fire. You will learn to handle pieces glowing with heat and guide them through the reduction process. For the horsehair technique, we apply strands of hair to the scorching hot ceramic surface. It sizzles, burns, and leaves delicate, marbling black lines that are impossible to replicate. It is intense, smoky, and unpredictable. That is the point. 

### Why It Is Unique
This workshop is for anyone willing to let go of perfection. As I always say, *artist ka matlab hai galti karna* (being an artist means making mistakes). Some pieces might crack, some glazes might surprise you, and some results will be unlike anything you have ever created. That is the beauty of it. 

### What You Get
We provide all safety equipment, including heat-resistant gloves and long tongs. You will walk away with your own finished, Raku-fired art. No experience is required, just an open mind and clothes you do not mind getting a little dusty. Come prepared for a session that is more of an experience than a class.

## About The Potter's Life

I am Suvajit. I grew up with clay in Howrah and found my creative home in the rhythm of Delhi's kilns. I do not believe in rigid rules; I believe in *clay with joy* and the beautiful accidents that happen when you trust the fire.
