These sculptures explore the human form and abstract shapes, moving beyond utility to become conversation pieces. ## Photos and videos - [Video: A look at my 'Erotic Jugs' from raw black clay to the final glazed form. When I sculpt a human jar or play with the feminine form for my erotic cups, I embrace the wobbles and the cracks. You will notice the finish is rarely perfect, which is intentional. These pieces are meant to hold your attention as much as they hold objects, whether it is a jar for keepsakes or a statement sculpture for your living room. I do not believe in rushing. My studio practice is slow and deliberate. Whether I am using coil, slab construction, or reductive sculpting, the clay dictates the pace. Take the 'Human Jars,' for example. Each head is hand-built, giving every jar a distinct personality. I sketch, I paint, and then I fire. Sometimes the kiln decides the final glaze, especially with Raku, creating those metallic or crackled textures you see. This is the 'dance of light and clay' I often talk about. When you commission a piece, you are not just ordering a product. You are inviting a bit of my process into your space. If you have an idea, perhaps a specific figure or a memory you want captured in clay, let us talk. We can work through the sketches, choose the clay body, and decide on the glaze together. These are high-fired stoneware pieces, durable and meant to last. My studio is in Jona Pur, New Delhi, but I ship these sculptures across the country. Whether you want a single statement piece or a series, the goal is always the same: finding joy in the shape. ## About The Potter's Life I am Suvajit, the person behind the wheel at The Potter's Life. I trained in Kolkata and Santiniketan, but today my Delhi studio is my true teacher. I make these sculptures because they allow me to explore narratives beyond what a simple bowl or cup can say.
