## About Modern French Manicures

I take my time with the smile line because that is where a French manicure either works or falls flat. Whether you are after a classic white tip on short natural nails or a bold, abstract shape on long stiletto extensions, I ensure the transition is seamless and durable enough to last until your next fill.

The French manicure is a classic for a reason, but it does not have to be predictable. In my GK-2 studio, I treat the French tip as a canvas for creativity. If you want to move away from the traditional white smile line, we can try black tips for a graphic look, neon gradients for summer, or even metallic chrome accents that catch the light.

### Why shape matters
The shape of your nail dictates how the French tip sits. On almond shapes, I prefer a thinner, deeper smile line to elongate the fingers. On square or coffin shapes, a wider tip looks cleaner and more intentional. During your appointment, we will look at your nail bed and choose a shape that complements your natural hand structure.

### Natural vs. Extensions
You do not need long extensions to pull this off. I perform French manicures on natural nails using high-quality builder gel to give you strength without the bulk. If you do opt for extensions, I use precise application techniques to make sure the tip does not look thick or unnatural at the edges.

### Getting the longevity right
A French manicure is only as good as its durability. I use professional-grade gels that resist chipping and seal the tips thoroughly. Whether you choose a high-gloss finish for that wet look or a matte top coat for a modern, velvety texture, the goal is to keep those lines sharp for weeks.
