Whether it is finding inspiration for a shade of brown on a client's sweatshirt cuff or just prepping the studio for a chaotic Sunday rush, it is rarely just about the polish. It is about getting the vibe right before I even start buffing, because good nail therapy needs the right energy. I started doing nails over 10 years ago, and I have learned that the best results come from the moments between the appointments. When I post a 'behind the scenes' clip, I am usually showing you the messy part of the job—the late nights, the brainstorming, and the times I absolutely cannot say no to a complex design request. My studio in Gandhi Market, Sion, is not just a place for a manicure. It is where we drink chai and chat. Sometimes a client comes in with a wild idea, like a copper cat-eye finish inspired by a vintage car, and we spend time figuring out exactly how to make it work. If you are wondering how we handle the rush or how I choose my seasonal colors, it is all about what my clients bring to the table. Some come with Pinterest boards, some just say 'Riya, tu kar le manage' (Riya, you handle it), and that is when the real fun starts. We do everything here—from structural builder gel overlays to intricate hand-painted art. But remember, we are appointment-only. Because I want to give every set the time it deserves, I can’t handle walk-ins when the house is full.
