## About Rustic Terracotta & Distressed Finishes

Terracotta is inherently porous, which gives it that beautiful, earthy texture but means it holds moisture differently than plastic or metal. We recommend these pieces for covered balconies or indoor spaces to preserve the integrity of the antique wash. If you do use them outdoors, be mindful that natural elements will eventually influence the finish, creating a unique, weathered look that changes with the season.

The Beauty of Imperfection: Our terracotta range centers on the wabi-sabi philosophy—finding beauty in the weathered, the rustic, and the distressed. Unlike mass-produced pots, our Balinese collection embraces variations in color and texture. Whether it is the iconic Gentong urn with its commanding silhouette or the textured Krio planter, each piece tells a story of local artisan skill.

Styling Your Space: For those aiming for a layered look, we love grouping the Kembung trios. Their varying heights and distressed beige or teal finishes create a balanced, sculptural arrangement that draws the eye. These are not just planters; they are statement vessels. For a more minimal approach, the Kuno with its classic urn shape works perfectly on side tables or as a standalone entryway feature.

Handling and Care: These are authentic clay pieces. While we take great care in protective packaging for our pan-India deliveries, consider the weight when deciding on placement. The antique washes—ranging from mossy greens to ocean-inspired teal—are hand-applied. They are designed to age, meaning the finish might evolve slightly over time, especially in humid conditions, which only adds to their character.

## About The Bali Project

We are obsessed with bringing the magic of Balinese craftsmanship to your doorstep. Every planter you see here is hand-finished with specific washes, from sandy neutrals to that deep, weathered teal we love. We believe your space should feel like an extension of your travels, and we are here to help you find exactly the right piece to tell your story.
