It is cluttered with sketchbooks, drying canvases, and prototyping tools because that is where the thinking happens. When you walk in, you are not just sitting at a desk; you are sharing space with mentors like Satendra and Kuldeep who treat this as an 'adda'—a place where ideas are challenged, messy experiments are encouraged, and your portfolio actually develops through real-world critique. ### More Than a Classroom We built this studio in Prabhadevi to be the antithesis of a standard hobby class. Most art programs focus on the final product—the finished drawing or painting. We prioritize the journey. ### The 'Adda' Culture Learning art in isolation is difficult. Our studio functions as an 'adda', a hub where students of all ages interact, share perspectives, and challenge each other's ideas. You might be a high schooler preparing for NID while sitting next to an adult rediscovering their passion. This cross-pollination of age and experience is deliberate. It teaches you to articulate your ideas, defend your creative choices, and engage in the same critique sessions you will face at design school. ### Mentorship That Works Our team—Purnima, Kuldeep, and Satendra—doesn't just supervise; we participate. Whether it is helping you navigate a complex mixed-media project or teaching you how to use studio equipment like etching presses, we are here to ensure you are doing the hard work of thinking. ### Our Approach: - **Process Documentation:** We teach you to value your sketchbook as much as your final canvas. - **Real-World Briefs:** Projects are designed to simulate professional design challenges. - **Constructive Critique:** We treat our feedback sessions as juries, helping you build the thick skin and analytical mind needed for top-tier creative institutions like RISD or NIFT. This is a place to be bold, get messy, and commit to the work. If you are ready to stop copying and start creating, you are in the right place. ## About Purnima Sampat I started this studio because I was tired of art being treated as a copy-paste hobby. My team and I have built a space that feels more like a creative lab than a classroom, where we prioritize your growth over perfect technique.
