Our Togetherness Initiative takes students from the practice room to real stages like The Little Sisters of the Poor. It’s where they learn to handle microphones, manage setlists, and connect with a live audience, turning shy beginners into confident performers who truly own the spotlight. Music is our language, but community is our purpose. At The Academy of Music, our Togetherness Initiative is where that belief turns into action. We see performance as the ultimate teacher. When a student steps out of the classroom to play at a community event, they are not just hitting chords—they are learning to communicate. We arrange sets that bridge gaps, often blending nostalgic Kishore Kumar classics with English folk songs. This is a deliberate technique to help our students learn versatility. They practice dynamic microphone handling, stage presence, and how to read an audience. Whether it is a prayer song or a high-energy Goan medley, the goal is the same: to build the confidence that only comes from real-world performance.
