Whether we are covering why double-coating your acrylics matters, how to mix colors so they do not end up muddy, or just finding the right light, my focus is always on practical, actionable steps. I keep things light—usually with a bit of music or a fun theme—because the goal is to enjoy the process of creating, not just to produce a masterpiece. ### How I Teach I am a self-taught artist, which means I know exactly how frustrating it feels to stare at a blank canvas with no idea where to start. That is why my workshops are designed to be beginner-friendly. I do not believe in strict rules; I believe in showing you the tools and letting you play with them. ### What You Can Expect * **Sip & Paint Bangalore:** These are my favorite sessions. We get together, grab drinks, paint, and just vibe. No experience is needed, and you will always leave with something you made yourself. * **Technical Art Tips:** If you are looking to get better at portraits, I share everything I have learned about color theory, blending, and understanding light and shadow. My goal is to demystify acrylics and watercolors so you can focus on the fun part. * **Creative Therapy:** Sometimes we do things like zine-making, which is all about self-discovery and processing emotions rather than just painting a pretty picture. It is a safe space to be messy and real. ### Why Learn With Me? Because I have been exactly where you are—feeling like an imposter and wondering if you have the 'talent' for it. I promise you do. My classes are about community as much as they are about technique. Whether we are painting floral studies, experimenting with portrait contours, or just hanging out, the vibe is always supportive and judgment-free. I share my process openly—including the mistakes—so you can skip the struggle and get straight to the part that makes your heart happy. If you are looking for a sign to pick up a brush, this is it. ## About Rattan I’m Rattan, and honestly, art is how I stay sane—it is messy, emotional, and I wouldn't have it any other way. I have taught myself the hard way, so I love breaking it down into simple, fun steps for you to try at home or with me in a workshop.
