When we use sensory trays or craft materials, I’m not just looking for a clean final product; I’m watching how they navigate the textures, follow multi-step instructions, and express their own ideas. It is about the practice of creating, not just making a craft to take home. ### Why Sensory and Art Matter For children aged 3 to 5, the world is best understood through their fingertips. My creative corner isn't just about glue and glitter; it’s a structured environment where children learn to focus. * **Fine Motor Development:** Activities like peeling felt, using safety scissors, and manipulating clay strengthen the hand muscles necessary for writing later on. * **Sensory Processing:** Whether it’s sand, water beads, or textured trays, these inputs help children regulate their focus and explore new sensations in a safe, controlled way. * **Instruction Following:** Complex crafts require listening to steps in order, which builds the patience and concentration kids need for school readiness. ### What Happens in the Studio We operate out of the YoungPlum Studio in Punjabi Bagh, an air-conditioned space I’ve safety-proofed with EVA foam mats. I provide high-grade materials—think felt, cardstock, and non-toxic edible compounds—because the quality of the tool changes how the child engages with the work. Every project is designed to be age-appropriate but challenging enough to give them a sense of accomplishment. ### Common Questions **Do parents stay?** In these specific sessions, it’s a drop-off model to encourage independence, though I always share digital photos and videos so you don't miss the moment. **What if my child makes a mess?** That is the point! I encourage getting messy. It means they are exploring. I handle the cleanup; you just enjoy the joy they bring home. **Is this for beginners?** Absolutely. Whether your child has never held a paintbrush or loves to draw every day, I adapt the guidance so everyone feels successful. ## About Let's Talk Club I’m here to make sure your child feels seen, not just like another face in a crowded classroom.
