If you have a heartbeat, you have rhythm. Our djembe workshops follow the traditional West African curriculum of Grandmaster Mamady Keïta, using vocal patterns and call-and-response techniques that allow you to start playing and feeling the music from your very first session. ### Our Approach to Rhythm At Taal Inc., we view the djembe not just as an instrument, but as a tool for healing and connection. Our teaching style is based on 'entrainment'—the scientific phenomenon where individual rhythms naturally synchronize into a collective beat. You don't need prior musical experience to join us. We focus on the 'Wassa Wassa' (Happy Happy) mindset, creating an environment where learning feels like a community gathering rather than a strict lesson. ### Workshop & Training Paths - **Djembe Workshops:** We host ongoing sessions in Baner and Kalyani Nagar. These classes teach traditional West African drumming, focusing on technique, rhythm structure, and the history of the djembe. It’s perfect for anyone looking for a weekly creative outlet or stress-relief. - **'Find Your Inner Rhythm' Intensive:** This is our flagship course for those wanting to take their practice further. Designed for educators, therapists, and rhythm enthusiasts, this certification program teaches you how to facilitate drum circles, manage group dynamics, and use rhythm to drive positive change in schools, offices, and communities. ### Why Learn With Us? Learning the djembe the traditional way provides a strong foundation that makes improvisation easier later on. Our facilitators are trained to keep things simple—using fun, accessible techniques rather than confusing notation. Whether you are a total beginner looking for a weekend hobby or a professional educator seeking a new tool for your kit, we offer a welcoming space to grow. Join us at our studios or partner venues across Pune and discover why we say: Come. Drum. Be One. ## About Taal Inc I'm Varun, and I swapped clinical psychology for the djembe because I saw how it connects people. At Taal Inc., we don't just teach beats; we teach community.
