My participation in platforms like Sangeet Milon as a judge and performer is not just about presence, but about connecting you to a wider network of artists. Integrating into the classical music ecosystem is essential for any serious learner. It is how one moves from daily practice (riyaz) to confident performance. At Swarveni Gurukul, we emphasize that Hindustani classical music is a living tradition that must be witnessed and shared. ### Why Community Matters Learning music is often a personal pursuit, but performing it requires community. By attending our monthly Baithaks and seeing my work as a judge at events like Sangeet Milon, you observe how senior artists interact, how they handle a stage, and how they connect with an audience. These experiences offer lessons in humility, stagecraft, and the deep emotional connection (bhaav) required to elevate your singing. ### Learning Through Observation I encourage all my students, from those in Rohini to our online learners, to witness live music whenever possible. When you see a Guru or a fellow artist perform, you learn to listen more critically. You start to notice the subtle interplay between the vocalist and the accompanist, the specific ways in which a Raga is introduced, and the quiet reverence that defines a proper Baithak. ### Connecting with the Tradition My engagements are a bridge for my students. Whether it is preparing you for music competitions or inviting you to observe our collaborations with other institutes, my goal is to ensure you are not just learning notes, but actively participating in a culture that has been passed down for generations.
