We structure every set around the mood of your room. Alish connects our songs with couplets that speak to the current atmosphere, whether it is a quiet, reflective moment or a transition into upbeat Bollywood tracks. These brief pauses for poetry act as the heartbeat of our performance, allowing guests to pause, reflect, and truly connect with the lyrics before the tempo picks up again. Our approach to live music is built on the concept of a 'mehfil'. A standard performance simply cycles through songs, but we aim for storytelling. Our lead singer, Alish Mohan, uses his training and performance history to read the room and adapt. If the crowd is leaning into the softer, classical tones of our harmonium and tabla, we lean into deeper ghazals and Urdu couplets. If the energy shifts toward celebration, the shayari becomes sharp, witty, and upbeat to mirror that change. This flexibility allows us to serve diverse audiences, from somber corporate award nights to lively weddings. We believe that music is a spiritual journey. By incorporating poetry, we break the barrier between the performer and the listener. It is not just about the technical sound—though our sound engineer ensures that—it is about the narrative flow. We perform across Delhi NCR and can travel Pan-India. Whether you choose our 6-piece Unplugged setup for an intimate lounge environment or the 10-piece Sufi-Rock Fusion band for a grand stage, the shayari remains the constant, binding thread that makes the music resonate long after the instruments have stopped. ## About Sufi Folks I am Alish Mohan, and with my team at Sufi Folks, I believe music is a journey of the soul. We do not just perform on stage; we create a space where poetry and melody meet to tell a story that feels uniquely yours.
