In projects like Prequel or Lucky Chan, we use targeted task lighting to spotlight the bar or table, while keeping general areas soft to encourage conversation. Think of it as painting with shadows—we help you decide which parts of your space are the 'stars' and which should retreat into a warm, comfortable background. The art of ambiance is not just about picking pretty pendants. It is about how your space feels at 3 PM versus 9 PM. We look at lighting as a layering process. We start with ambient light to set the base, then add focus lighting—like statement pendants over a dining table or under-bar strips that highlight texture—to create depth. Materials play a huge role in how light lands. A wall of textured wood, like the one we designed for Lucky Chan, absorbs light differently than subway tiles or a smooth neon sign. We often work with neon not just for retro flair, but for wayfinding and branding, turning a functional element into an art piece. When we collaborate, we look at your floor plan through the lens of movement. Where do people walk? Where do they linger? We use automated lighting transitions to manage the shift from day to night, ensuring the space feels as welcoming for a Sunday brunch as it does for a Saturday night rush. Whether it is acoustic layering to manage sound or integrating neon art that reflects your brand mascot, every detail serves the narrative. We do not just light up a room; we stage a scene for the stories your guests will tell. ## About Studio Taan I’m Neha, and I approach every design as a narrative—a scene waiting for the right light to set it off. I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all illumination; I prefer to craft layers that respond to how your space changes from day to night. Let's create an atmosphere your guests won't just see, but feel.
