## About Architectural Design

We approach every project like a living canvas, not just a structure. For us, architectural design is about creating spaces that feel layered, tactile, and genuinely connected to both people and place.

### What Shapes Our Spaces

- Nature is always part of the plan - think open courtyards, verandahs to watch the rain, and "borrowed landscapes" where your house almost steals a bit of that park next door.
- Light is a big deal for us. We play with skylights, canopies, and screens to create those shifting shadows and glowy corners that change through the day.
- We keep it real with materials. Exposed concrete interiors, natural wood, Kota or Sadarhalli stone, and brick - you’ll see these raw and honest in our work.

### How We Design

- Adaptive open-plan spaces that can change as your life does. Sliding panels, see-through screens, rooms that open up or close off - we like flexibility.
- Every facade is thought through, not just for looks but to handle our crazy weather - jaalis and operable screens control sun, breeze, and privacy.
- Collaboration is at the heart of our process. Our team includes everyone - you, engineers, landscape folks, even local artisans.

### Some Recent Work

- Biophilic home design in Bangalore with concrete canopies and triple-height light wells.
- A school made of pods and bamboo roofs.
- Clubhouses that reimagine the old-school jagali for modern living.

If you’re looking for a space that grows with you and feels rooted, that’s what gets us excited.

### My story

We’re Studio Motley. Architecture for us isn’t just walls and roofs, it’s about stitching together stories. We love mixing old-school Indian crafts with modern touches - like Channapatna wood or a Thangka panel. Every project, we chat a lot with clients and our craftsmen, working out the little details. For us, a home’s got to have soul, not just look pretty.

### My work

- **Architecture, Urban Design & Interiors**: We handle everything - from ground-up buildings to tiny details inside. Custom Channapatna furniture? We’re in.
- **Design Philosophy**: Spaces should talk. We balance light, shade, openness, and solid bits, so rooms feel grounded but not boxed in.
- **Natural Materials & Craft**: We’re big on teak, terrazzo laid insitu, rattan interiors, and stone. Local artists help us create unique stuff.
- **Inside-Out Living**: Nature’s always part of the plan. We like verandahs, jagalis, and borrowed landscape design, keeping outdoors close.
