It is to learn how to center both the clay and your own focus. This session provides unlimited stoneware clay for practice, but keep in mind that this is a process-oriented workshop. The price covers your hour on the wheel, but firing and glazing are separate. Come ready to experiment, get messy, and understand the basic technique of pulling walls. Pottery is not just a craft, it is riyaaz. Just like a classical singer practices scales, a potter practices the movement of clay. When you walk into our studio in the Byculla mill compound, you are stepping out of the Mumbai rush and into a space designed for quiet concentration. ### What to expect at our Wheel Pottery Experience - **The Gear:** We use electric Shimpo wheels, which are industry standard. You will have unlimited stoneware clay to practice with during your slot. - **The Guidance:** Our team is there to help you with the basics—centering, opening, and pulling the walls of your pot. We are hands-on, often guiding your hands to help you feel the correct pressure. - **The Aftermath:** This workshop is an experience. If you find yourself enjoying the process and want to keep a piece you have made, you can opt for our post-processing service at an additional cost. This covers drying, bisque firing, studio glazing, and final firing. ### Why Byculla? Our studio is housed in an old mill compound. It has the kind of high ceilings and rustic, exposed brick walls that make it feel like a real workshop, not a sanitized classroom. It is raw, industrial, and completely focused on the work. Whether you are coming alone to disconnect or bringing friends to bond over a new skill, this space is open for you to find what your hands can do. ## About Studio White & Gray Hi, I am Sandeep. I started this studio because I wanted to build the space for potters in Mumbai that I never had when I began. Here, it is not about signatures or perfect results, it is about finding yourself through the discipline of clay.
