We strictly schedule these during the golden hour, either at sunrise or just before sunset, to get that soft, dreamy light. Since we are dealing with natural elements like wind and waves, I recommend wearing flowy fabrics that move with the breeze. I provide one long trail gown for these sessions, but bring a comfortable outfit for the walk back to the parking area, as sand and high heels do not mix well. ### Why Choose a Beach Maternity Session? There is something inherently peaceful about the ocean. The vastness of the sea provides a timeless, uncluttered backdrop that keeps the focus entirely on you and your bump. Unlike studio shoots, the beach offers dynamic natural light that shifts as the sun goes down, creating that signature warm glow in your photographs. ### Logistics and Location For these outdoor sessions, we typically select a beach in Mumbai that offers enough privacy for you to feel comfortable. Because these shoots depend entirely on the sun, the timing is non-negotiable. We aim for the 'Golden Hour,' which gives us the softest light and minimizes harsh shadows. If the weather is overcast, we sometimes get beautiful, moody, and dramatic shots that a bright sun cannot produce, so we keep an eye on the forecast together. ### How to Prepare * **Wardrobe:** Movement is key at the beach. I include one photographer-provided long trail gown in this package, which creates stunning silhouettes against the water. If you choose to wear your own clothes, pick fabrics that flow. Avoid stiff structures that do not catch the breeze. * **Comfort:** Walking on sand can be tiring. Bring a pair of flip-flops or comfortable sandals for walking between shooting spots. We will do most of the photography barefoot. * **Inclusivity:** These sessions are not just for you. Spouses and children are welcome to join. The best beach photos often happen when we are just walking, talking, or playing, so do not worry about holding a perfect pose.
