It was about our coaches and players pressure-testing our systems against European standards. Whether your child is U8 or U16, our curriculum is now directly informed by the same principles Heimir Hallgrímsson uses to train the Ireland national team. We hosted Heimir Hallgrímsson for a week-long residency because we believe our players deserve exposure to how the game is taught at the highest levels. This program moved from the classroom to the turf, bridging the gap between theory and execution. ### The Curriculum in Action Our coaches sat with Heimir to dissect academy structures and modern training methodologies. For our players, this meant high-intensity, on-field sessions that were less about running drills and more about understanding the 'why' behind every touch, pass, and movement. From U8s learning foundational ball mastery to senior squads refining tactical positioning, every age group got a look at European-level standards. ### Why Mentorship Matters We focus on long-term athlete development. Winning is great, but we wanted Heimir to challenge our coaches on creating a learning environment that lasts. This visit reinforced our focus on player profiling and technical growth, moving beyond simple match scores to real, measurable progress. Our coaches are now implementing these refinements across all SFL Oranje Academy centers in Mumbai and Pune. If you are looking for a football program that treats your child's training with professional-level scrutiny, you have found it. ## About SFL We are SFL. We believe that if you want to take India's football forward, you have to start with the coaching. We bring global football minds to our Mumbai and Pune fields to make sure your child is training the right way.
